Interesting.

Very interesting … and the corners are leading my mind to some modifications to make for future reference.

All but eight of the blocks in the design above are identical, but I like what they do to the overall design.

I thought I would like it better with more light blocks in the corner, but have decided that I like the original.

Saved my favourite until last … though I think I would like it better on a table than on a bed.

I cannot remember if I was going to have a square on point in the centre, or four V shapes, but decided to keep it at the halfway point.

In my mind’s eye the square looks a little bit wider with that shape in the centre.

Don’t see a lot of Cornerstone Log Cabin quilts, which is a pity as they can be very interesting designs.

I like the first one, and the second one …

… and the third one too, but would like it better if the dark and light fabrics were swapped.

The one above is what happens when Cornerstone blocks and Barnraising layout meet, and four blocks are turned around.

I have to admit that this time last week I was at a retreat with accommodation, workspace etc. housed in an old warehouse. Some stitching was done between conversations ...

Love the second one! I would love it with just plain old Log Cabin blocks too.

The middle design for this week’s five minute retreat from the rest of the world is a nice one.

Interesting! And my coffee cup is empty, so will have to get a refill before I add the last design for today.

Yep, the middle of another week already!

Interesting, but the fabric choice could be improved … a project for another day when I am bored and there is nothing else attracting my attention.

The one above would work well with Log Cabin blocks instead of Chimney and Cornerstones blocks.

Middle of another week already … the last few weeks have gone by slowly, but a nice fine week suitable for gardening is rushing by!

Before I head out to add some plants to borders, here are this weeks Log Cabin designs to maybe inpire someone out there to think about playing with Log Cabin quilt designs.

These layouts would be suitable for basic Log Cabin blocks as well as these Cornerstone blocks.

The design above is very close to my favourite Log Cabin layout, usually named Barnraising … with eight blocks turned around the wrong way.
